Well shit, it looks like a majority of you can put up with an excessive amount of cheese.

The American people have spoken, and San Andreas CRUSHED it at the box office this weekend. Not only did it come in number one at the box office, it pulled in more than $53 million, which is way over the $48 million debut originally projected. It was a big weekend for The Rock's career too because aside from the Fast & Furious movies, San Andreas was his biggest career opener ever.

Tomorrowland didn't even stand a chance this week, but what's worse is that it got booted – not one but two spots – down to the number three spot, coming in behind Pitch Perfect 2, which has been out for three weeks already. Mad Max: Fury Road and The Avengers: Age of Ultron held on tight to the number four and five spots. The rankings looked like this:

1. San Andreas

2. Pitch Perfect 2

3. Tomorrowland

4. Mad Max: Fury Road

5. The Avengers: Age of Ultron

So to put it into perspective for Clooney: a $100 million apocalyptic earthquake movie and a sequel about competitive acapella groups beat out your $190 million movie. Yikes.
